Heute haben die Kids Lust auf Schimmelreiten. Also satteln sie Hans, Bianca und Griselda, die ein grauer Appaloosa ist.
Today the kids like to ride white horses. So they saddle Hans, Bianca and Griselda, which is a grey appaloosa.
Im Wald treffen sie Emme mit Helene. Ja, auch ein Schimmel!
There in the wood they meet Emme with Helene. Yes, also a white horse!
Als hätte jemand gesagt: nur für Weiße. Nun, wenn sich das nur auf die Pferdefarbe bezieht, mag es ein harmloses Spiel sein.
As if someone had said: for whites only. Well, if that only means the colour of a horse, it may be a harmless game.
Genau so ist es. Die Kinder finden es einfach lustig mit Schimmeln im Schnee. Recht haben sie: es sieht tatsächlich ziemlich gut aus! Doch wenn sie Leopold mitgebracht hätten, würde jeder sehen, wie gut ein Rappe im Schnee aussieht. Vielleicht nächstes Mal?
And so it is. The kids just find it's funny with white horses in the snow. And they are right: it looks somehow special. But if they had brought Leopold, everybody would see how good a black one looks in the snow. Maybe next time?
Lucky the whites horses can still be seen in the snow! But if it was snowing hard I'm sure they would vanish like wild spirits unseen ..
